THE SECOND DIVISION
AN INCORRECT REPORT
A statement is being made unofficially and very often repeated that the Government does not intend to send the married men to light, and the successive postponements of tho calling «]) of tho men of the Second Division are evidence of this. Sir James Allen was, anked to make an authoritative statement on tho matter yesterday. Tho Minister said: "So long as the (var continues the Government will continue to fuih'l its obligation to send reinforcements, even if this should involve the calling up of the B and 0 mon. It is my earnest wish that we shall not have to send even the A men out of the country, but no one can tell when the war will end. I saw members of tha Second Division in the Bouth, and my conviction is that, although they have big responsibilities, they will all go willingly when their time comes, knowing that they are lighting for their country and their own people."
