.— 9 I FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for variable ■ breezes, eoiith-easterlies ruling, northwards of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura. Weather fair to cloudy generally. The barometer has a rising tendency in the north, but will probably fall again ehortly in the south. ■ Moderate to strong southerly winds haye predominated. The weattier has improved to-day, but it is still cloudy in the northern and East Coast distriote. Atmoepherio pressure hae increased everywhere. . D. 0. BATES, Director.
