German submarine crew boarded the ' boats containing the Ceferino's crew, who reached and landed on the island of Hiorfo. They demanded the delivery of two Germans domiciled in the town. 4 The Mayor replied that they were interned in Teneriffo. The Mayor and another official were conveyed on hoard the submarine as hostages whilo the Germans telegraphed to Teneriffe. They were liberated when the internment was confirmed.—Ans.-N.Z.
