Except for better lines competition was not keen and prices were in favour of buyers. Quotations:—Cull lambs, 2b. 6d.; aced ewes, Bs. 6d.; mixed-age owes, lis. 9d., 19b., 19s. Id.; i'otir and five-year ewes. 20s. 9d. to 23b. 6d.; two-tooth, ewes, 28s, 6d.; two, four, and six-tooth ewes, 26s 2d.; 6mall twotooth wethers, 235. Id.; aged rams. 275.; two-Bhoar Romnoy rams, scns. Cattle: Empty cows, £B; fat cows, £12: dairy cows, to £11 155.; choice dairy heifers in calf, £12 ss.
The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At IlimataiiKi, on Monday, the yards were well filled with both sheep and cattlc. and we had a largo attendance of buyers. Alf lots sold readily at auction, and we quitted all but a few pens of cattle. Quotations:— Gmall lambs, Bs. 6d.. 10s. 10d.; mixed woolly lambs, 12s. 6d., 13s. 2d.; rnne lamb's, 17s. 2d.; fat ewes. 325. lOd.; mixed wethers and ewes, 28s. The New Zealand Loan, and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At Baumai. on Tuesday, there was a very full yar.dins of both sheep and cattle. Sheep Bold particularly well, and cattle at late rates. Quotations :—Two-tooth wethers, 285.; two-tooth ewes, 28s. 2d.; forward mixed two-tooths, ZBs. 9d. to 30s, Id.; two and a half-year steers (off colours), £8 5a.; cows with calves, £6 10s.; weaner heifers, 365.
The Vairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., stock department, report on their liasterton sale as follows:—A heavy yardiutr of sheep came forward, and was submitted to a good attendance. Business at auction was rather sluggish, but wo did exceptionally Rood business before the close of the day. Quotations:—The Lincoln two-tootli ewes, on account of J. S. Holmes, Es., realised 36b.; the Bomney two-tootb owes, 30s. 6d.; others—fat ewes, 31s. 4d.; b.f. two-tooth wethers. 235. Id.; w.f. two and four-tooth wethers, 255. 4d.; cull wethers. 19s. Dalgely and Co., Ltd., report that at their Otaki sale on Wednesday they offered a heavy yarding of,sheep and cattle, all of which, with the exception of a pen of four-year owes, were sold at satisfactory prices. They quote:—Pat ewes, Ms. 2d.: fat and forward -wethers, 295. to 325. 9d.; two-tooth wethers, 245. Bd. to 255. 6d.: two and four-tooth ewes, to 285.; f.f.m. ewes, to 255. 6d.: cull lambs, ss. Id. to 10s. fid.; potter rams, to 315.; Romncy rams, to sgns,; light fat cows, to £11; forward bullocks, to £15; one and a halfyear steers, to £8 7s. 6d. : two-year steers, to £10 10s.; .yearling steers, to £5 18s.; weaner Bteers, to £4 65.; weaner heifers, to £3; empty two and a half-year heifers, to £8 65.; empty cows, to £9 6s. 6d.; potter bulls, £S.
