FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT t P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for easterly winds, strong to eale, northward of Kawhia and East Cape, and incrcaßinc northerly winds elsewhere, changing to south-easterly shortly in and southward of Cook Strait. Squally weather, with rain, is probable in the northern and southernmost districts, and unsettled conditions are likely to spread elsewhere. Barometer falline in tho north, but rising in tho south soon. Fair to cloudy weather has prevailed generally, but some scattered rainfalls have been reported in tho northern and cast coast districts of the North Island, and conditions a,re Bomewhat threatening to tho north-west.
