"ABDUL THE DAMNED" PASSES Amsterdam, February 11. The ex-Sultan of Turkey, Abdul Hamid, died at Constantinople, of inflammation of the lungs.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. fAbdul Hamid 11, born in 1812, succeeded to the throne of Turkey on tlio deposition of his brother, Murad V, on August 31, 1876. He reigned till April, 1909, when, as the result of the Young Turk revolution, he was deposed, to be succeeded by bis brother, Reshid Elrendi, who now reigns as Mahommed V. Abdul went into dignified captivity at Salonika.]
