COALMINE WORKERS
REPORTED DEMAND FOR HIGHER PAY. By TolcEraph— Press Association. Christchurch, February 11. It is reported that the Coafminers' Federation has made a demand on the Coalmine Owners' for an increase of twenty per cent., in wages and hewing rates. The Auckland agreements made last year, granting increases of 17* to ; 20 per cont., were for threa years or for six months after the end of the war.
