A correspondent, "Trombone." sends the following respecting a band concert given at Martou by the Citizens' Band. —''The opening piece could have gone off better, but in the second the hand showed preat improvement. In a very line march for a hand of tliis class "the cornets and basso wero well in evidence, and the march wad very well rendered. A waltz was didly played—lime good, mid throughout the piece the hand did. very tine execution. An item of variations was well played, the organ-like parts being beautiful. Like most bands to-day it appears depleted of members, but with the instruments at play better volume could have been produced. The lead cornel; evidently was quite up to form, the. trombone at_ times a little, at variance, and the side-drum could have been ir.ore- effective. I should say this hand is making good progress under- the difficulties that apply all around at present. Some of the players are evidently fresh, and the combination is not too strong. Throwing out one or two little faults, the performance on tho whole was very satisfactory. The weakness apparent is want of more practice, together, andwith more vm into the . play better results would obtain. However, the trials and tribulations connected with brass bands are well known, and doubtless this worthy country band has its share." Kor Children's Haokinp Cough, Wood's Great Pepparmint Cure.*
