THE CANDIDATES. • By Toleijraph—Press Association. Christchurch, February 8. Nominations for- the Southern Maori seat closed ' to-day. They are:<Teone Matapuna Erihana. ijenare Parata. John Hopero Wharewhiti Urn. The statement' was made-'by Sir James Carroll that Mr, Parata is the Government candidate. Hori Tatuki Topi, who had "been'nominated, withdrew in his favour. Sir James Carroll ' stays iii the South Island until after the election.
