Arising out of representations made by the Lyttelton Harbour Board, the Minister of Railways has decided to institute.; a. late, train service between Lyttelton and Christchurch from the' 18th instant; -leaving the.Port at M 5 p.m. Tho pro vision: of; a.'night .train, it is.hoped, .win. facilitate the working of the port and remove any/grounds for •intercolonial and other vessels passing by Lyttelton.. The waterside workers have refused to work cargoes in tho past after six.'in the evening owing to the withdrawal of the train service, and as a consequence shipping has been subjected to serious delays, i and in some cases • vessels have cut out the port altogether so as not to be.inconvenienced. ,'
