At. an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of tlio Worksop Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., says our Alastcrtou correspondent, it was decided that the company go ?nto liquidation, Mr. N. TT. James being appointed liquidator. The company, since it was formed, lias returned hundreds- of dividends, and lias been a fine thing for the township of Masterton. WAIHI HEEFS-GIGANTIO. The manager of thenWaihi Eeefs-Gigantio Consolidation, Ltd., reports for the week ended January 26:—"We are operating on the now rejif at 300 feet, level after having completed a considerable amount of clearing and adjusting timber in north drive, where lorel penetrated the 60 feet of broken country. .1 have commenced opening out in a north-easterly direction and on foot-wall portion of reef. Tho quartz is exceedingly hard to drill, but looks well, and samples will be carefully taken for assaying. At present I have one Bliift of men at the work until sufficient room is made to Increase the number of hands below. The machinery is working well, and water is easily held down."
