Messrs, J. and N. Taifc have enRaged the famous American dramatic star, Guy Bates Post, short Australian tour, commencing early in 'April. Mr. Post is considered to be one of the foremost dramatic actors in America. He is to appear in a special repertoire of modern dramas, including the latest Broadway success, entitled "The Masqucrader," in which ho has made the biggest hit of the current season. Readers of Katherme Cecil Thurston's novel, "John Chilcote, M.P.," will bo interested to learn that "The Masqucrader" is founded on that famous story, 1 though thc_ interest of the two leading characters in the novel, John Chilcote and John Loder, is dramatically intensified in the play, and affords a great opportunity for an achievement in dual impersonation by Mr. Post.
It was reported at the Licensed Victuallers' Defence League Conference at Southport, England, that the Ministry of Food has refused to allow a supply of sugar for hot. drinks in publichouses, and the suggestion was made that cards should be hung up in pub-lic-houses asking customers who require sugar to bring their own-with them.
