« - "I AM A BOLSHEVIK." ' Peter Simonoff, the -lewly-elected Bolshevik Russian Consul-Geiieral for Australia, has been a resident of Australia for the past six years. On arriving in Australia Simonoff, who is a, single man, about 30 years of age, worked in Queensland, on railway construction works, and later at Port Pirio. A couple of years i'go he came to Broken Hill, and followed his occupation of trucker in several of the local mines, until July of last year. At the request of several Russian people he then returned to. Queensland for the purpose of editing the Russian paper, "The Worker's Life." Tim paper lias since been suppressed. fcV monoff was a very militant unionist in Broken Hill, a member of L.V.A., ;i soapbox speaker, and a writer of re lutionary articles in the local extremist Press.

Mr. Simonoff in an interview .said: "Personally, I am satisfied that things are going well from the revolutionary point of view. 1 do not .deny that I am with the Bolsheviks. I think tiiej have acted as wisely as leaders coti't. act. I a2ree with the actions of Lenin and Trotsky entirely. Their.aim is l<. establish Socialism in full. I ran only repeat with Trotsky and Lenin that Russia is not going 'to jomnlete a 'shameful Kaiser's peace. The Bolsheviks are for peace, and do not wa:. r<n»'v,\tio»s or indemnities for JiusBia."
