ELECTION NOTICES. WIN THE WAR CANDIDATE. TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON NORTH. \TOU are respectfully urged to bo prc--S( sent at tho Concert Chamber, Town Hall, THIS EVENING,- at 8 o'clock, -to hear ME. J. P. LUKE, the National Government Candidate for tho Wellington North Electorate, who will Address you on the War-winning Policy of the National Government, and his views and attitude thereon and thereto. W. do R. BARCLAY, Chairman. TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON NORTH. Ladies and gentlemen, I have been selected by the members of the Trades Un-ons, Women's Societios, and Political Organisations affiliated to tho Wellington Labour Representation Committee to contest the Wellington North Constituency'"as the Candidate of the New Zealand' Labour Party. I am pledged to the platform and principles of that party, and, if clccted. will bo unswerving in my support of all its aims nnd objccts. During the courso of tlio campaign ample opportunity will by given lo all Electors in the Constituency to hear the principles of. the Labour Party fully elaborated, but I would; here point out that, abovo and beyond aU elte, the Party standß without equivocation for tho Workers. and is irrevocably opposed io Special Privilege, which frsi, and foremost tho Massey-Wa.rd Government standß for. For more than a quarter of a century I have been closely identified with the Labour movement both, in Australia and New Zealand, and in both countries havo been honoured by my fellow-workers by being, placed in the highest positions at their command. I shall challenge the Government on it-5 Conscription Policy -its refusal to trUßt the .people to decide the all-important ißsue of tho Conscriptio.i of Life, tho manner in which it has withheld from the people information concerning its own War Polioy, its repressive War ,Regulations, and its policy of clase discrimination iu the application of tho said Regulations, its treatment of tho soldiers, the foUy of its' policy in dealing with Christians and othor men and boys who havo conscientious 'objections to taking life, its muddled Finance, itß utter ineptitude in the matter of the Cost of Living, itß action in using tho law to hold down wageß In the face of rising prices, its policy of assisting the War Profiteers to -wring excessive prices from the starving people of Great Britain as well as from tho people of this country, its amazing endowment of tho Union Steam Ship Co. with public money, and its general polioy of Clrbb Legislation and Class Administration. If elected, the whole of: my time, and what ability and. energy 1 may posbesb wiU be devoted to the. interests of Labour. To aH who desire to nee Justice prevail, to all who want an end of tyrannical misrule and olass administration, I confidently look for support I ask you not to. aHow your opinionß to be shaped by the daily Press—owned and controlled by, and written to, tho order of Labour's bitterest opponents. I earnestly invite you to attend my meetings, hear my exposition of Labour's ideals and its constructive platform, and judge for yourselves between the respective policies of Labour and tho Maseey-Ward' Government.—l am. yours very faithfully, H E. HOLLAND, Selected Labour Candidate.
