CAMP DENTAL WORK
NEW PRACTICE INTRODUCED. 1 Since the numerical strength of the reinforcements of New Zealand troops ivas reduced, a different _ practice has been adopted in connection with the dental treatment of the men. Formerly their teeth were examined after they had been medically examined, and a chart made of each mail's teeth for the guidanco of civilian dentists, who did as much of tlio work as possible before the men entered camp. After going into camp, the remainder of tho work was done, in accordance with the details shown on these charts. Beginning with tho Thirty-eighth Reinforcements, now mobilising at Trentliam, the whole of tho charting and dental work is being done in camp. As soon as.the men have been drafted to their units the dental officers of that camp set to work and make tho necessary charts of the mouths of those men who are to remain at Treutham for a time. The men of the Mounteds, Artillery, A.S.C., Specialists, and other units who are stent on to Featlierston after selection are treated in that camp.
The new practice means more work for the camp dental staffs as regards each soldier, though the reduced number of troops makes the sum total of work about the same as formerly.
