A Gazette Extraordinary issued .last . night contains the official notice of the ■, intention- of the Government, through tho Imperial Supplies' Department, to ■purchase .butter..-and choesjj for export on behalf, of the Imperial authorities. The prices and conditions are as ■ already arranged between the Govern"'nient,: and : . the .producers-' V. Tho ioUowing prices will be paid for ...butter delivered free on board steamer , at a customary grading port for car- • riage to the Unitedi Kingdom;— Creamery Butter.—First grade, 1675.. .per hundredweight. In the case nf • second-grade butter a deduction of 6d. ■ per hundredweight shall be made for ' each half-grade point by which the butter falls below first grade. Whey Butter and Dairy Butter.— ,f First, grade, 138s. 'Sd. per hundredweight; second grade, 1295. Ocr hundredweight.

Milled Butter.—First grade, 1245. /Id. per hundredweight; second grade, /"l]9s. Bd._ per hundredweight. ' The'price to be paid by the Govern- . -ment' is in the caso of first-grade fullcream factory cheeso lOd. per pound, .and in the cat a of second-grade factory cheese 9j|d per pound, delivered -■ free on board ocean stealer at a cus"tomary grading-port for direct car- ' riage -to the United Kingdom.
