The withdrawal of Long Range took a lot of interest out of the Middle Park Plato. Almoner, who saddled up very well, was a good favourite with the Greenwood pair, Kleus and Afterglow, better backed than Heathorcoto. Tho field ran in a bunch to the course proper, with Heathercote and Mortham in the lead. Two furlongs from home Ulcus shot out, but Emnrson then brought tho favourite along, and the chestnut colt finishing strongly won by two lengths.- Heathercote was a length away, and theu came Afterglow.
