A very fine war record is detailed in a news clipping from a London newspaper, which states: —"Mr. A. Jackson, a baker, claimed exemption at tho Southwark Tribunal on. patriotic grounds. Mr. Jackson's mother was ono of two sisters who married two brothers. Between them they_ had 25 sons. Twenty-four were serving with the Army, and the applicant was the last of the family in civil life. Conditional exemption was granted." At the time of the appeal all 24 men were alive, and only one had been wounded.
