LOCAL SCHEMES TO PRECEDE A NATIONAL ONE.' London, February 1. Lord Rhondda, the Food Controller, stated in the Houso of Lords that ho hoped to have tho country covered by local compulsory rationing schemes early in March. The Government would subsequently transform these into one national scheme. Sir A. Yapp is resigning the Directorship of Food Economy because compulsory rationing has been decided on. He has finished the task of organising voluntary rationing.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ■
