There was thea i no other person on the. premises, and Gardiner's calls for hep and his ham- [ mering.on the side of the safe were ' "'atmosphere soon became so heattime to beats the continued ratings, but eventually trued them to the strongroom, when it became evident to them that someone islmprisoned. The safe was eventu--55 opened, and Gardiner was found . fa a state of collapse.
