; ' A FINE RETURN. A,meeting of the.War Funds Collecting Committee was held in .the. Mayor's room yesterday afternoon to receive the final report on the"campaign held on October 16 tibd thereabouts in aid of the King George Fund for Sailors and their Dependants.- The chair was occupied fiy the Mayor (Mr.' J.. P. Luke), and there were present Mesdames Luke, : AT. Nathan, A.\ 15. Pearce, M. Myers. Messrs. L. 0. H. Tripp, T. Young, J. H. Helliwell, and Mrs. Cox (secretary). The report presented by Mrs. Cox showed that the total receipts amounted to £3197 Bs. Ad., and tho disbursements to £126 9s. 10dV. 'There, may be other small claims tp'seit'!". but they will be inconsiderable. ;.Tbo balance will be remitted'in duo .cmirso to tho London secretary lo .the "fund Resolutions'of thanks were passed td Mrs. Cox (who'acted ..as hou. secretary), Messrs.
