« MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held yesterday. The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr. O. 11. M. M'Olure) presided, and the other members presont were- Messre. J. It was resolved to offer this timber by public auction at an upset price of £153. E. G. Kendall applied for a permit to occupy Section 15, Block XII, Kaitieko S.D. Ijt was resolved to grant it from year to year under Section 27 of the Pubjic Eeserves Act, 1908, at a rent of £3 per annum, subject to the usual conditions.

A. J. Hawkins wrote surrendering his permit to occupy Sections 6 and 7, Rangataua Village Settlement It was resolved to accept the surrender as on December 31 last.

S. Holden applied for a permit to occupy Seotlons 6 and 7, Rangataua V.S., 2 aores. It was resolved to grant it from year to year under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of £1 10s. per annum, sub. ject to determination at any time, and other üßual conditions. B. Barnicle applied for a permit to oncupy Sections 18, 19, and 21, Block 11. Rangataua Township, 3 roods. It was resolved to grant it from year to year under Section 130 of the Land. Act, 1908, at a rent of £1 10s. per annum, subjeot to the usual conditions. 13. Harrison applied for a licence to cut flax on the Raketapauma Block. It was reeolved to grant it at the pried of £12. Bubjeot to the ranger pointing out exact location of flax to be cut. F. 0. Marshall applied for a permit to occupy open portion of Part Section 34. Suburbs of Ohakune, about 2 acres. It was' resolved to grant it from year to year under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of £2 per annum, subject to the usual conditions, and to the area, occupied being fenced off. Applicant may use dead timber on the ground for this purpose. A report was received from tho ranger on Section 63, Block V, Karioi S.D., 5 acres 10 perches, aleo application for same section by Mr. William Ryan. It was resolved to reoommend the allotment of the section to William Ryan. G. H. F. Saunders applied for a loase of Section 36, Horoplto Township, 2 aores 1 rood 29 perches. It was resolved to grant him a permit to occupy from year to year under Section 27 of the Public Reserves Act, 1908, at a rent, of £1 per annum, subject to the usual conditions. G. C. E. Harper surrendored his permit to occupy Seotion sa, Block XIII, Manngakarctu,. 61 aores 1 rood 18 perches, and C. W. Wilson applied for a similar permit. It wae resolved to accept Mr. Harper's surrender >as on ' December 31, 1917,' and to grant Mr. Wilson a permit to occupy this section from year to year from that date under Section 27 of tho Pnbllc Reserves Act. 1908. at a- rent of £3 per annum, subject to the conditions originally imposed. A report was received from the ranger on Seotion 2, Block 11, Manganui S.D., 684 acres. It was resolved to reduce the canital value to 255. per acre.

W. E. Andei-flon applied for a permit to continue having access to Mangapokia Stream throngh • Section la, Waihora. Settlement. It was raolved to make the future lease of this section subject l*> a continuance of Mr. Anderson's fight to nsa this strip for the purpose of watering his F.tocii.
