. 9 — Mr. S. George Nathan offered several properties for salo by .public auction in tho Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon, tho first being a farm of 111 acres, situated at Porirua, known as the "Burnside" farm, the property of tho late John Mitchell. Biddinp; started at £30 an acre and rose to £45 per acre, ab which price it was sold to Mr C. H. Howard, tho total purchase price being £4995. The nest property offered was a seven-roomed residence in Glen Itoad, Kelburn. This was passed in at £1800. The next, offered was a residence of 12 rooms in Hill Street. .As tho reserve was not reached this was also passed- in, lilcewisn a six-roomed dwelling on Tliprndon Quay. The latter three properties are •now open for private sale.
