EXPORT OF HEMP
TO FRANCE VIA AUSTRALIA. Tho following telegram regarding the shipment of hemp to Franco from this country has been received from the High Commissioner:—With reference j to hemp for Franco War Trado DopartI ment understands that there are French j ships running from Australia to France, I and suggests that hemp should be shipj ped to Australia in local steamers for roshipment by that route. They state that in view of tho inward tonnage situation it is considered most undesirable for such_ hemp to bo brought to the United Kingdom for roshipment.
