CUNARD LINER TORPEDOED
SMALL LOSS OF LIFE VESSEL MAY BE SAVED London, January .28. The Irish correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that the Cunard liner Andania (13,405 tons), with 10 passengers and 200 of a crew, was torpedoed off the Ulster coast. The ship was abandoned, but all the people were picked up. The liner has not sunk, and it is hoped that she will be brought into port.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. FOUR STOKERS KILLED. London, January 28. Four stokers were killed by the torpedo which struck the Cunard liner Andania.—Reutor. LITTLE HOPE FOR THE VESSEL. MAILS FOR AUSTRALIA ON BOARD. (Rec. January 29, 8.15 p.m.) London, January 28. Two of the Andnnia's crew were lost. There is little hope of the vessel reaching port. The list hampered the lowering of the boats, and one was stove in, but the occupants were rescued.
