OLD NAVAL CLUB. In addition to the match Navals v. KARORI RIFLE CLUB. | Last Saturday a match was fired on the Waiwetu range between tho Petone and Karori Clubs. Tho woather was excellent, and record scoros were etfpccted. Tho only remarkable scoro was that of Now Zealand's veteran, Rifleman Arthur Ballinger, who added to bis other records tho fine scoro of 102 out of a possible 105, the scoro inoluding a "possible" at 500 yards. A number of marksmen just missed "the possible." Tho conditions of the match wero ten men n-sido, firing seven shots at each of the ranges, 300, 500, and GOO yards. Teams' matches were fired at Miramar on Saturday between the Suburbs and Old Navals Rifle Clnbs, at ranges 300, 500, and 600 .yards. The weather was bumpy at the two last ranges. At the conclusion cf the match' the secretary of tho Suburbs Club thanked the president and members of the Old Navals Club for the match. Although the scores were low the match was fought to tho last man down. President Babe, in returning tbanlcs, lioped many more return matches would bo fired between the two clubs. • Cheers were exchanged between the two clubs. Next Saturday the Suburbs will fire teams' matches against the Karori Rifle Club at ranges of 300, 500, and 600 yards.
