St. David's Boy Scouts, under the leadership of Mr. J. Cody, scoutmaster, have just returned from camp, having spent twelve happy days in tho beautiful bush on Mr. Buchanan's property at Haywards. On _ Thursday evoning they held, a very enjoyable Social,. about 70 parents and friends being present. Songs were rendered by Miss Cotton, Mr. Medhurst, Scouts R. and J. Pollock, and a pianoforte solo by Miss Roberts. The fife and drum band played two selections, and an amusing account of camp happenings was given by Wnlly Burd, camp secretary. The Mayor of Petone (Mr. JW. Jl'Ewan) presented a handsome copy of Burns's poems to the most popular scout in the troup. On the vote of his comrades, Fergus Mncfarlane was the recipient. Supper was then handed round bv the boys, and all joined in singinc. Throe cheers were given for Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan (who had treated tho boys so well whilo in camp) and for Mr. Cody.
