RETURNED SOLDIERS
BASE RECORDS RETURN. A return dealing with the officers! and men of the New' Zealand Expeditionory Force who have returned to this country lias been furnished to the Minister of Defence by Base Records. The total number of men who had returned on December 31, 1917, was 14,141. Particulars as to what has happened to these men are as follow; v Officers, n.c.o.'s, and moii'dis- " charged and gazetted out as at November 30 11,110 Officers gazetted out during December, including two nurses 19 N.C.O.'s and men discharged in Decomber 039 N.C.O.Vaiid men discharged in December (Sanioan) 1 Officers; n.c.o.'s, and men returned to duty up to November 30 ; 1,359 Officers and men returned to . I duty on December 7, less four i since discharged 3 Officers, n.c.o.'s, and men awaiting return to duty 31 Awaiting discharge 299 Under treatment in hospital ... 3JB !
