TIIIBD WELLINGTON BOARD APPEALS HEARD YESTERDAY The Third Wellington Military Service Board continued its sessions yesterday. Mr. M. J. Mack presided, and with him wcro Messrs. T. Ilamber mid A. O'l;. Cousidine. Captain P. Baldwin represented tho military authorities.

Charles Thomas Scandlyh, a married man with no children of his own, claimed to be supporting the child of a dead brother. He wished to be treated as a reservist in Class B. The hoard adjourned his case for three months.

IJayid Lewis O'Donnell, farmer, was granted three months' adjournment tor' business reasons.

.An appeal for the exemption of Francis Henry G. Galvin, mercantile clerk, Lipman Street, was lodged by the father. Galvin was the only son left at home. Two boys had been, killed at the front, and one was still lighting. The board adjourned the case sine die.

Chnrles H. Cameron, storeman, Frankville Terrace, was one of five brothers. Three had been wounded— two very severely. The fourth brother was a married man with four children. Appellant himself was married. The board adjourned the case for three months.

Joshua David Prosser, farmer, Porirua, was exempted because he was a half-oaste Maori, and therefore was not liable to serve.'

Tho appeal of Daniel J. Larsen, farmer, ■ Paraparaumu, was adjourned sine die.

Walter H. Garbutt, taxi-driver. Maarama Crescent, satisfied the board that he was an American citizen, as his fathpr had been naturalised in the United States during appellant's minotitv. The appeal was allowed. The board dismissed the appeal of Arthur Thomas, 22 Hnuka Street, Wellinston. Leave till May ' was granted. Several reservists proved that they should not have been called upon, fis they were members of later classes of tho Second Division. Seamen, marine ' en'oiiieers. cooks, and stewards were appealed for in the usual way. and exemption on the tomarv terms was granted- to all who had the requisite length of soa service to their credit.
