At Greymouth she will load coal for Wellington. ROSAMOND FOR NAPIER AND GISBORNE The Union Company's Rosamond will leave Dunedin to-day, sailing direct for Wellington. She is due on Saturday morning, and will eail in the evening, taking cargo for Napier and Gisborno. THE MANA. The Mana left Timaru yesterday afternoon for Wellington, and is due early to-morrow morning. She will load cargo for Lyttelton and sail in the evening. A number of improvements have been effected to tho New Zealand Refrigerating Co.'s 6mall coastal stuamer Mana at Lyttelton (says the "Press"). The main hatch hae been greatly enlarged, and the Vessel has been fitted with new ventilators. A new master's cabin has been constructed and other structural alterations made that will provide both officers and crew with much improved accommodation. The Mana's engines have been thoroughly overhauled and several new plates have been fitted on the vessel's bow, and there has been installed a new derrick, enabling her to work double gear. The total quantity of coal, including bunkers, exported from Newcastle to tin other States for 1917 was 2,072,006 torts, as against 2,024,762 tons for 1916, or an increase of 47,244 tons. The Calm will sail this afternoon for Wanganui returning here on Saturday to load for Lyttelton. Dunedin. and Timaru. The Himita'ngi left Waitangi on Monday for Lyttelton, where she is due today. The vessel will arrive at Wellington to-morrow, and sail at noon on Saturday for Pitt Island and Waitangi to load sheep for Lyttelton. . The Defender, which is due to-night from Hokitikn, will return to that port on Monday. Before the Wakatu returns to Wellington from Kaikoura she will make a special trip from that port to Lyttelton with wool. She is due liere on Saturday niglit, and will sail on Monday for Kaikoura and Lyttelton. The Blackball Coal Company b Ngahero will sail at noon - to-day for Greymoutn to load again for Wellington. The Ngatoro, which wan to have come to Wellington, has boen diverted to Napier and Tokomaru Bay. The John is duo at Wellington on Sunday from Lyttelton, and on Monday will sail for Wanganui. . . The Putiki is due here to-morrow night from Lyttelton, and after -discharge will load cargo for southern ports, sailing on Itonday night. The C'orinna is due on Sunday from Lyttelton' Jo load for New Plymouth. She will sail on Monday. The collier Kaituna is due at Wellington early in th» week from Westport., To allow her to lift a quantity of transhipment cargo, the Huia will not sail until noon to-day for Wanganui, New l'lymouth, and Waitara. The Amokura, passed East Cape at 7 p.m. on Monday, hound for Auckland. An inquiry is being held at Nelson by Mr. P. O'B. Loughnan, 8.M.. into tho circumstances connected with the loss of the ketch Result in Torrent Bay on December 5. Captain 11. Collina is sitting with Mr. Loughnan as assessor. ..
