O'Neill (clerk in the Stamp ■Office at Wellington). Tho Commissioner said that Keehle could- not- be (replaced, and that it would be excefid'ingly difficult to replace! O'Neill. Keeble's case was adjourned sine die. j 'O'Neill's was adjourned till May to give Hfie Department an opportunity'of find--sng a substitute. ... Exemption sine die was granted Arthur Donovan (assistant record clerk, iWellington), George W. _ Milne'' (telephone exchange ■ton), Hamilton Patten (mechanician, Christchurch), Norman Douglas Fraser (telephone exohange- mechanician, Wellington), and Harry Heatley-(splicer jof. telephone wires, Christchurch), for Iwhom the Post and Telegraph 'Department appealed. The board adjourned sine die the appeals made for Thomas Henry Mulvihill (wireless operator, Radio, • Awa'uni),. Charles P. Greenfield (cable operator, Wellington), Eric H. lies (wireless telegraphist, .Wellington), Charles Oswald Eyre, and Walter H. S. iLewie (examining officers, Auckland). Duncan M'Murtrie, telephone operator, had his appeal allowed. • He was only nineteen-years of.age, and therefore n6t a reservist. Two Hindoos were exempted. ■ ■■ In the case of William James Frost, clothing examiner, a certificate showing that he was employed by thn Defence Department was produced. Frost did not himself attend. He was granted exemption.' Ernest Henry Healey (refrigerating engineer, Wellington), claimed to bo supporting a wife and children; The hoard ordered him to enter camp in 'April unless he produced proof /that his statements were correct. . - Exemption on the usual terms was granted a number of policemen, for whom the Commissioner of Police appealed.
