THE GALLIPOLI MEDAL
STATEMENT IN THE HOUSE CF COMMONS. (Rec. January 24, 1.45 a.m.) London, January 23. In the House of Commons, replying to Mr. Leslie Wilson, Mr. J. A. Macpherson (Under-Secretary for War) stated that the Imperial and Dominion Governments were- sympathetically considering the question of issuing a medal or decoration to troops who participated in the operations on Gallipoli, but no decision had yet been reached. The question was an extremely difficult one, involving a good deal of interviewing and correspondence, with the various Governments concerned.—Reuter.
