RIFLE SHOOTING

THE SUBURBS QLUB. The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club spent a very pleasant afternoon at Miramar on Tuesday. The club fired their annual "Daily Mail" competition at ranges 300, 500, GOO, 600, 700, 800 yards, seven shots at each range. The weather was ideal. Sergeant F. Clung acted as range officer. The "Daily Mail" championship off rifle was won by H. R. Hunt with 185; W. J. Spencer being runner-up with 183. Short-range aggregate, 300, 500, f>oo, 600 yds., C. Stewart, 129. Long-rango aggregate COO, 600, 700, SOOyds., W. J. Spencer, 129. The possible prize was not won; J. Bassett running very close with 34 at 800 yds., winning the sweepstake.
