Messrs. A. J. Cooper and Co., Ltd. reEort taring held their annual stows salo 1 Mr. M'Gregor'» yards' at Hiko.rang'. Te Wharani, January 17. They yaH&d • a total entry of 7645 sheep and 358 caltle. The stock yarded -wore in very good condition, some vory good lines of 2 ana 4-tooth' wethers coming forward and meeting .with keen competition. There wa? a large attendance of buyers. Comoetilicn for all good lines of wethers and ewes was fairly keen, but ewes In low condition were not much Bought after. The bulk of the oattle were grown steers, but were ■very mixed in colours, and conscimmtly did not find buyers. Good-bred station lines were keenly sought after. A line of 62 two and a half-year steers. Fol.d on account of Mr. D. Douglas, made t:6 Is.. and a "lino of 74 yearling steers, ofered on behalf of Mr. M'Gregor, rnado £12 !ls. Id • 945 do 255. 6d.; 68 four-tooth forward wethers, 545. Id.; 257 cull wothers, 225. Bd.i 74 yearling steers, £12 11b. On accoaat of Nitz Bros.: 80' ■ two-tooth wethers, 26s ; 61 four-tooth wethers, 30s. 2d.; 572 five-year ewes, 215.; 265 mixed-age ewes, 2is 2d.; 481 oull shorn lambs, 75.; 56 four-tooth wethers, 335. Id.; 61 wethers, 275. 7d ; oB fat ewes, 295.; 125 cull wethers. 18* (hi account- of Kummer Ilroa.; 515 ewes, 275. Id. On account of othftr vendors: 170 woolly wether lambs, 155.; 146 four-year ewes, 275.
