EXTREME DAMAGE IN THE ENGLISH COUNTIES. Lontfon, January 21. A thaw, followed by heavy rains, resulted in floods in tho country distiicts. The rivers have risen alarmingly, and thousands of acres are under water. Much damage has been done in South Wales, Devonshire, Warwickshire, and Buckinghamshire. Many towns in Huntingdonshire are isolated. The thaw revealed 4500 burst waterpipes in Newcastle-on-Tyne.—Aus.» N.Z. Cable Assn.
