NEW ZEALAND OFFICER KILLED ON WEDDING EVE. (Bee. January 22, 11.40 p.m.) London, January 21. Captain Eric Crofts, lato ineclio.il student at Diuiedin, who was engaged to marry Miss Iris Jardine, daughter of Mr. Ernest Jardine, M.P., fractured his skull on the eve of his wedding by falling down the staircase of his hctel. He died at Charing Cross Hospital. The deceased officer won the Military Cross, and had been twice wounded in France.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
