AV. J. Baskerville, of Auckland, to Major Edward James Hulbert, D.5.0., 'fifth Bon of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Hulbert, of Hargreaves' Street, A\ r ellington. The(Rev. Father Furlong performed the ceremony, and Mrs. John Boylan officiated at the organ. Miss Gladys Baskerville was bridesmaid, and Mr. J. Baskerville was best man. Major Hulbert, who has been serving in Egypt, attached to Staff, was presented by the officers with a cheque and by his men with a case of cutlery. He recently returned from the front in charge-of. a draft of wounded men, land intends to go back shortly. Major Hulbert was one of those decorated at New A r car for fousnicuous service. He is one of five fighting brothers, the

youngest, Captain L. V. Hulbert, having been killed on October 21, 1916.

Miss Williams, secretary of the Invercargill Y.W.C.A., passed' through Christchurch at the end of last week, on her way to Wellington.
