PERSONAL ITEMS
Professor James Park, Dean of the Faculty af Mining Engineering at the Otago (N.Z.) University, is at present in Northern Queensland, for the purpose of making investigations. Professor Park has three sons on active service. Flight-Commander E. R. Park was awarded the Military Cross in September, 1917, with the rank of captain, and iu October lie was awarded a bar to the Cross, accompanied by promotion to the rank of flight-com-mander. He enlisted with the New Zealand Royal Field Artillery, and landed in Gallipoli with the Anzacs. Before enisting ho was connected with the Union Steam Ship Company, and was well known in Sydney.
Mr. H. L. Lucena, son of Mr. J. L. Lucena, of Toko, Taranaki, has passed _ the flying test at tho Sockburn Aviation School, and has received n. first-class certificate, his period of training being a little less than three weeks.
Lieut.-Cokmel Claude Weston, of New Plymouth, will most probably, return to Now Zealand in June. He" has a stiff hip joint, and has to remain a further four months in hospital.
