CRICKET
INTEBPROVINCTAL MATCH POSTPONED. The Canterbury-AVellington match did not begin on Saturday atternoon owing to tho heavy ram. Play wiU, if the weather permits, commence this morning at 11 o'clock. The greatest care had been given to tlio wicket, and early in the afternoon it would still have played well, the rain had wet the surface, but the wicltefc was quite hard, and would haveplayed tolerably fast. At 1.30 p.m., tho hour fixed for play/the umpires examined the pitch and declared it playable. Then it was for Captains b. Brfce and D. Boose to sav whether the weather was fit for their men to play in. At this time, 2 p.m., the raiii began to fall moro heavily, and they wisely decided not to play.
