Thermal activity at Whakarewarewa during the past three or four weeks lias been very pronounced, and lias been enjoyed by visitors during tlio holidays. Pohutu geyser gavo_lo2 displays in December* the eruptions _ in each case beinjj very impressive. Since las); August this geyser has heen m eruption on no fewer than 398 occasions.
