HOW TO CHOOSE GIFTS

The choosing of suitable gifts is much more difficult than .usual this year, as owing to the war many articles that were 1 previously available are now altogether unobtainable-. Young folk are in the, fortunate position of having a wide range of inexpensive articles, such as nicely-bound books or inexpensive jewellery to choose from, but the man who has been married a few years and wishes to make a nice present to his family finds the problem of choosing a troublesome one.

The ideal gift for a man to mako to his wife and family is one that will add permanently to their comfort, and make home life brighter and more attractive. Thousands of men, particularly fanners, find themselves, perhaps for the first time in their lives, in the fortunate position of having a surplus in the bank, and are determined to make some longpromised improvement to the home. During the past month more than 250 country homes in Now Zealand have been made brighter and cheerful by having "Wizard" Lighting Systems installed in them. The lighting problem is a. serious one in the country, and many otherwise beautiful homes lose their charm owing to the use of smoky kerosene lamps or dim acetylene jets. A "Wizard 1 ' Lighting System makes an ideal home gift, as it not only adds to (he comfort of the family, supplying as it does a light better even than coal gas or electric light, but it is also a permanent, profitable investment, as the saving in cost of running compared with kerosene is so great that tho plant pays for itself in a year or two. So great has been the demand for "Wizard" Lighting Systems during the past month that tho agents have had great difficulty in keeping up with their orders. Four years of increasing sales have proved conclusively that the "Wizard" is the best houselighting plant on the market, and no nther is iust as good. "Wizard" Lamps light with an ordinary match, have an automatic, needle to keep the jet clean, and aro fly and moth proof. The plant is guaranteed for five years, and complete plants are sold for from ,£ls upwards.

Country people should drop a postcard to Messrs. Early Bros., Ltd., 187 Feattiereton Street, Wellinston, tho New Zealand agents for "Wizard" Lighting Systems, who will be pleased to supply ail pwticluars, together with a price, including the cost of fitting for a plant of any size.—(Published by Arrangment.)
