The rinks competition was carried forward to-day noar. to the semi-linal stage, 'l'ho principle of sudden deatli was not adopted, bectioual wins being the order of tho day. In tho iirst section Smith (Otago) won outright, winning all three games, and thus qualifying for tho final. In the second scctiou Walker (I'onsoiiby) and Smellio (Green Island) tied with.one loss each, and in tho third section.Watts (Otago) has three wins, and Casey (l'onsonby) and Gray (Kelburn) two wins each.. Casey having a bye, lie nrast meot Gray to-morrow, and tho winner will have to meet Watts to decide the winner of tho section. Results of to-day's play:— FIRST SECTION. First round—Noble (Newtown) 26, Fastier (Cavorsham) 16; Smith (Otago) 19, Johnson (Duiicdin) 14. Second round—Johnson 24, Fastier 16; Smith 20, Noble 8, ■ Third round—Smith 19, Fastier 18; Johnson 21, Noblo 13. Smith won tho section. SECOND ROUND. First round—Bailoy (Hataitai) 22, Walker (Ponsonby) .18, Smellio (Green Island) 20, .Eraser (United) 19. ;* Second round—Eraser 29, Bailey 10 ; Walker 29,, Smellio 20.
Third round—Walker 25, Fraser 19; Smellio 19, Bailey 17. Smellio and Walker tied. THIRD SECTION. .First round—Wylio (Te Iliwi)-16, Casey (Ponsonby) 11; Watts (Otago) 20, Gray (Kelburn) 14, C'olville (Edgeware), a bye. Second round—Watts 21, Wylie .13; Casey 22, Colvillc 17; Gray, a byo.: Third round—Casey 21, Watts 19; Gray 16, Colville 14; Wylie, a bye. Fourth round—Watts 14, Colville 10; Gray 13, Wylio. 11; 'Casey, a bye. To-morrow the pairs competition will be continued, as the players are released from tho rinks:
