WAR FACTORIES IN PEACE TIME
MONEY HELP FOR .CONVERSION TO NORMAL WORK. An important committee for tho consideration of the position of factories now engaged on war work with a view to their conversion to normal purposes after war has been sot up by tho Treasury and the Ministry of Munitions. It will be the duty of tho committee in the first placo to report whether the normal arrangements for tho provision of financial facilities for trade by means of existing banking and other financial institutions will bo adequate to meet tho needs of British 'industry during the period immediately following tho termination of tho war. If tho financial facilities aro not deemed to he adequate tho committee is asked to indicate hy what emergency arrangement they should bo supplemented, regard being had in particular to tho special assisrai.ee which may be necessary (a) To facilitate tho conversion of works and factories now engnged upon war work to normal production. (b) To meot tho exceptional demsmds ■ for raw materials arising frrm the ■ depletion of stocks.
