THE CANDIDATES MENTIONED. There are three candidates now in tho field for Wellington North—Mr. J. P. Luke, Mr. A. E. Why to, both of whom , linvc considerable followings, and an independent Liberal candidate, Mr. A. N. Poison. Mr. Luke will have the support of tho Government. It is under-, stood that Mr. Whvte, whose candidature lias not yet been definitely announced, would support the Government, but that lw and his supporters do not follow Sir. Luke in some of the more important articles of his political faith. Of Mr. Poison nothing is known except that lie. was' until soma months afro private secretary to the Hon. Dr. Poiunre, and that lie was for some time in CI camp.
