VAIiETTA, Ashburton, 14th Dec, 19.17. MR. J. 8./CHMSTIAN, Local Agent, NATIONAL MUTUAL LIFE ASSOCIATION, Ashburton. '"TVBAR SlEfie William Wellington Patterson (deceased): I desire to place on record, for publication if necessary, tho following important facts in reference to my late husband's Policy with the National Mutual Life Association. The Policy was taken out by him on 28th Soplember, 1912, and premiunmvcro paid regularly up to 28th March, 191.5. After that date no further prcmiuniß were paid in cash, but tho Office advanced the unpaid premiums out of surrender value and kept the Policy in full forco until death took place on 16th July, J917, and 1 have this day received from the National Mutual a chequo for £150 10s. lid. in settlement of my claim. Although only 2J years' premiums were paid.tho Policy was kept in force for a further period of 2 years and 4 months by tho "Non-For-feiture Principle," which wns first introduced into life assurance business by the National Mutual, and which has now helped me to benefit materially by its operation. I fully recognise that my 'late husband's Policy is a striking examplo for tho blessings of Mutual Life Assurance, and I hope that good use will bo made of this letter, so that others may be brought to realise tho benefits to be derived from a life assurance Policy in tho Office which you represent. (Sisned) Yours faithfully, I ELIZABETH P. E. PATTERSON.
