The annual coherence of the New .Zealand Association of-Nurserymen is .to be held in Cbristchurch next week. ~ The following matters of especial in.teresfc -will be dealt with -.—The pro- • posed new constitution; efficiency mat--tcrsand the Second Division; the fruittree selling agreement -with the N.Z. 'Federation of Fruitgrowers, Ltd. (ie- ' port and consideration); prohibition of .'imported trees;/grading- fruit trees ' (setting- tfie •• standard); suggested .pomological board;' suggested protect* . tion on raisers of new varieties. ■ Among the remits to bo considered - are the following :— - "That the National Association draw - the attention of the Minister of Agriculture to the anomaly of bedding Tplants being outside the operation cf 'the registration of nurseries." ... "That the public receive some projection by way of the inspection and
condemnation of worthless plants cffared for sale."
That "the need of establishing a Aational School of Agriculture in connection with oao or more of the experimental stations Lβ urged on the attention of Government, with a special ieference to afforestisation."
