CITY MILK SUPPLY
THE CLEARING STATION PROBLEM. There is little fresh to report about the milk clearing station. The committee appointed to report as to means of making tho clearing station scheme workablo has not yet brought down any suECcstion. Tho committee, which consists of Messrs. Ward, Oliver, and Williams, will report to the Milk Committee of the City Council, and will rot wait for the meeting of the council. There was some talk of a special meeting of the council to consider tho position, but no decision to call the council together lias been announced. The question lias been raised as to whether the Milk Committee will act on the'report of the special committee, and it seems likely that the committee -ill do this if the case appoars to them to be one of sufficient plane sailing. In the event of certain suggestions being made, the committee will probably defer the question and allow tho council to take tho responsibility of savin" what tho next move is to l>e. Tim next meeting of the council is M't down for January 24. One of the members of the Milk Committee who was spoken to yesterday said that he is satisfied that tho problem that is before the committee and the council is one of tremendous difh■■iilty.
