A fairly large amount of business was transacted at the following rates. Mr. Newtown King reports:—At I'rcnui, on Monday, January 7, there was a. small entry, practically all of which was cleared, moat young cattle being passed. Small IMS-month, heifers made £4 2s. 6d. to £4 103.; Jersey 18-month steers, £4 10s.; Jersey weaner steers, 17s. 6d.; cows and calves, £9,105.; fat cows, £11 to $11 3s. 6d.; store cows, £6 12s. 6d. to £8 18s. 6d.j hulls, £8 10a. to £13 2s. 6d.; f.m. ewes, lis. 9d. to 15s. 2d.; two-tooth wethers, good line, 28s. 6d. At Stony River, on January 8, there was a small yarding with a good demand throughout. Fifteen-month steers made £7; fat cows, £10 10s. to £13 Is.; forward cows, £9 ,2s. to £9 195.; store cows, £6 10s. to £8 155.; small cow and calf, £6 10s.; springing heifers, £6 to £9 10s.; springing cow, £9; bulls, £8 ss. to £13 15b.; weaner pigs, 7s. to 10s.
