ENEMY TRENCHES NEAR LOOS RAIDED
AN AMMUNITION DEPOT BOMBED
(Rec. January 13, 5.5 p.m.) London, January 12. Sir Douglas Haig reports:—" We successfully raided trenches east of Loos. We repulsed a raid south of Armentiercs, and dispersed working parties south-cast of Monchy-Ic-Preux. The hostile artillery is active northeast of Ypres. Our aeroplanes dropped two tons of bombs on an amunition depot in-tho vicinity of Courtrai. and also bombed other targets." —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter. (Reo. GERMAN OFFICIAL REPORT. London, January 11. A German official report states:— "A surprise attack by the enemy southeast of Ypres broke down. Thero is violent English artillery fire between Moeuvros and Marcoing (on the Cam* brai front)."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.Reuter.
CONCRETE UNDERGROUND HANGARS
FOR GERMAN AEROPLANES IN BELGIUM. (Rec. January 13, 5.5 p.m.) Amsterdam, January 12. The ''Echo do Beige" says the Germans in Belgium have constructed immense concrete underground hangars from which aeroplanes will emerge in full flight up a gradient.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ■
