CONSERVING FOOD
• RATIONING PUBLIC MEALS. (Rec. January 12, 0.20 a.m.) London, January 11. A new public meals order will he issued shortly and will prohibit meat, poultry, and game at breakfast in hotels, restaurants, and clubs. It will totally abolish the sale of glasses or milk. Non-resident customers must provide their own sugar. Meals will bo strictly rationed m accordance with the voluntary scale. Cattle will be requisitioned." the different areas supplying a fixed number weekly. Lord Rhondda, the Food Controller, is completing a national card for rationing. Ho is dealing first with butter and margarine, and later will deal with tea and tnilk, and probably with meat.—United Service.
